Fighting for Disability Rights in the North East

Who We Are

Difference is a campaigning and policy organisation representing disabled people across the North East. Our aim is to reduce discrimination, increase access and inclusion and work towards a more equal region. We are classed as a Deaf and Disabled Persons Organisation (DDPO) which means that we are run by the people that we intend to support.

What We Do

Difference North East Staff and members are each holding papers with the "access denied" campaign information and ae all looking directly into the camera.

Take Action

We want you to join us as a member. More voices equals louder voices and disabled people are stronger together. We want to represent disabled people across the North East and we want to share our news with you.

Our Impact

A disabled woman with bright red hair styled in a side braid, glasses, and a black-and-white patterned jumpsuit, is sitting in a blue wheelchair in front of a white car with its driver-side door open. She has a red belt, several visible tattoos, and is resting her left hand on a walking stick attached to the side of her walker. The background includes green foliage and a dirt path. The woman looks directly at the camera with a calm expression.
